August 9 "Deliver Us From Ourselves" Isaiah 54:10

Isaiah 54:10 "The mountains may be removed and the hills may shake, but My Lovingkindness will not be removed from you, and My covenant of peace will not be shaken, says the LORD Who has compassion on you."  Every one who is thirsty for more, come.  We recognize our deep inadequacies. With every breath, we either profane the moment or it is holy for we have been redeemed by a Holy One.  That which is not holy, may God refine.  Where we want something more than God, may God deliver us from ourselves.

Seek the Lord while He may be found;
Call upon Him while He is near. Isaiah 55:6

PRAYER FROM PSALMS
Psalm 105:4
God, may we seek Your Face which really means Your Presence. May we continually seek it today, tomorrow, forever. Open our ears that we may recognize what is keeping us from living in Your Presence.

  1. A much needed reminder to me today came in the scripture:
    Isaiah 55: 8-11 "For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
    Nor are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord.
    9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
    So are My ways higher than your ways
    And My thoughts than your thoughts.
    10 “For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven,
    And do not return there without watering the earth
    And making it bear and sprout,
    And furnishing seed to the sower and bread to the eater;
    11 So will My word be which goes forth from My mouth;
    It will not return to Me empty,
    Without accomplishing what I desire,
    And without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it."

    How often I forget; it's not what I desire that matters, God has a major plan for my life. I need too watch for it, wait for the opportunity and follow His plan.

  2. Is 55:11 "So will My word be which goes forth from My mouth;
    It will not return to Me empty,
    Without accomplishing what I desire"

    "we either profane the moment or it is holy if we are redeemed..." those words are so powerful, Bev. They strike a deep place in my heart of knowing He alone makes us beautiful. He alone makes us holy. He alone redeems the ugly moments and makes them beautiful at the right time. Thanks for this.

    His Word will never return void. Blessed are we to know and serve the One True God of the Bible!
