August 10 "Never Shorted" Isaiah 59:1

59 Behold,
the Lord’s hand is not so short.  Isa 59:1. We may perceive that His Arm is not too long in our direction. But how do we then live? We truly live when we don't respond to our circumstances but face full to our Savior. May we respond with deep spiritual convictions to what we face. Written with tears streaming down. Just checked out of a hospital. Had a bad scare. His Arm was not short over here.

  1. I've been thinking about the difference between awareness of sin, conviction of sin, and condemnation of sin.

    I wrote an email to a friend mentioning that I was aware of a sin now so that should be the first step toward healing.

    She wrote back, "I don't know about what good awareness does, but conviction is definitely a first step......which is probably what you are having, and you are so right, apart from God, it's not going to happen the way He wants it to!"

    Awareness comes from a self focus; conviction comes from the Holy Spirit; and condemnation comes from the enemy. Only one leads to repentance and truth. Let's let the Holy Spirit do His thing in our lives.

    Isaiah 59:16 "And He saw that there was no man,
    And was astonished that there was no one to intercede;
    Then His own arm brought salvation to Him,"

  2. Bev, I saw on Facebook that you had to be admitted to the hospital due to dehydration. I hope you are taking care of yourself. Sending prayers your way for healing! Love you, Annette

    1. I made a mistake that cost me dearly. Wasn't able to eat for 2 days due to circumstances. Cannot do that on cancer med much less anytime. Thursday I had two flights that were delayed/change terminals/changed gates/ and I had to get out of long food lines at Los Angeles airport plus no food on planes. When I arrived Austin I went straight to a banquet but didn't care for food. Ate a little and planned to get something on way home. Got emergency counseling call and went there instead. Slept til almost noon next day and jumped on school bus thinking we were going to stop for lunch. We were supposed to eat before we came. Yikes. Thought I would be fine til 6pm dining hall. Took a nap. Went out for walk to make a business phone call and felt really fine. All of a sudden I fainted on a gravel road and couldn't get up----laid there I don't know how long. About an hour in 105 degrees. Bob didn't answer. I couldn't use the phone again. Too weak. I could hear a car drive up so I mustered everything and sat up to wave them off. Afraid i would get run over. It was a young girl. She saw me. She turned her SUV around and drove off. Bob finally called and ran down to get me. We waited for a car to come by cause by that time I couldn't walk. I don't know how long total time I laid in 105 degree heat. Unfortunate circumstances. Struggling with myself for not eating and setting up a perfect storm. It is hard on anyone to lie in heat for an hour much less in distress. Have worked hard this summer to get 7 1/2 hrs sleep at night and eat well. Not this time. I thought I might die on that road. Really strange incident.

  3. Thankful you did get help and that you got to the hospital. Praying for full recovery and for nothing like that to ever happen to you again. You are so precious to so many of us. Even sight unseen except for pictures on FB.

  4. Yes, so thankful you are recovering. The heat is so dangerous and combined with no food or water, it must have reeked havoc on your system.

    You are so faithful and disciplined to post here every day and to post 70 days in a row for #SummerWalk pictures. Just one of the things we love about you...Hope you are continuing to feel strong and healthy again. You are very dear to us, to me!
