The God Who parted the seas for the Israelites.
The God Who parted the seas for the psalmist, time and time again.
But! Here's what this psalmist does say:
"God is my King from of old,
Who divides the sea by His strength." Ps 74:11-12
Therefore...
and what is the therefore, there for?
Therefore, my voice rises to God.
He says it again. Rises to God!
He will hear me. Psalm 77:1
My hand is stretched out to my God.
Forget about the weariness of holding my hand high.
I am a deserted disturbed soul. Psalm 77:3
I've dropped quite a few tears in those waters above.
I am so troubled that I cannot even speak.
But!
I will remember, meditate, ponder! With my heart!
God's way is in the sea
that remains and holds such Mystery.
You cannot track any footsteps there.
O my soul, you have a safe Anchor.
Throw it out in your blackest of nights.
Trust in your dark seas.
God's Footprints will not be seen in any sea.
This Day of Trouble.
Is a Day of Prayer.
Name the diversions that this world draws you to pursue.
Attach your devotion to the One Safe Harbor.
The Captain of our soul.
PRAYER FROM PSALMS:
Father, You say in Psalm 74:3 that the enemy has damaged everything within the sanctuary.
Give us eyes to see what we are doing when the thick fog rolls over our lives and we are lost in a sea of circumstances. We look to you when we walk in this present darkness. And we believe, together, that you are a very Good God Who can part the waters when we need to walk through. Our hope is in you this day--- not in any diversion---no matter how good or small. May we run to Your Harbor, dear Captain of our soul.

No matter what is going on with my family, in our nation, or the world; I hold on to: I shall remember the deeds of the Lord; Surely I will remember Your wonders of old. I will meditate on all Your work
ReplyDeleteAnd muse on Your deeds. Your way, O God, is holy; What god is great like our God?
There is no other God. He has never failed me and He never will.

12 I will meditate on all Your work
And muse on Your deeds.
13 Your way, O God, is holy;
What god is great like our God?
14 You are the God who works wonders;
You have made known Your strength among the peoples.
15 You have by Your power redeemed Your people,
The sons of Jacob and Joseph." Selah.
That passage spoke to me as well. It is finally summer here, thunderstorms, the power of the waves on the lake, the magnificent sunsets, all remind me of the awesome power of God. Deep calling out to the deepness of Him.
These psalms contain "secrets" to strengthening our belief. When we feel alone or rejected, we can meditate on all the wonders of days past and strengthen our faith, remembering our own history with the God of Abraham and Mose and...Annette.
ReplyDeleteDuring difficult times and sleepless nights, recount His goodness, recall His faithfulness. Stand in the God Who always was, is and is to come, the One Who is constant and unchanging.
When everything else is chaos and uncertain, He remains a steady anchor. This one facet of God's character helps steady me so much.
I am finding out that He truly is my anchor. He and He alone is the source of my joy. Not places, not circumstances and not having certain family members living near me, as they have their entire lives. I've always said He was my Anchor and my Refuge. He proved that when I went through the season of two elderly mothers in nursing homes. The last week, He has revealed Himself to me over and over and given me His sweet peace. He has shown up at church and of course in His word. He is showing me day by day to count it all joy when diverse and difficult trials come into my life. I can truly say He is working ALL things for my good. My trial would seem trivial to most but I know that He has tailor made it for me. He does that for each one of us, and our trials are there to enable us to grow and mature in Him and testify of His goodness. I am far more blessed than I could ever deserve. My cup runs over and flows over the sides as I recount my blessings. He is the Uncreated One who created everything. He is steady and unchanging as Annette said, that is such a tremendous blessing to rest on. My Anchor holds in the midst of the gale...
