Oh to be found in a community of questioning people. Those asking really good questions. It is really all right to ask.
The Bereans did. And they found God. Acts 17:11 "Now these Jews were more noble than those in Thessalonica; they received the word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so." Not so for the jealous Jews from Thessalonia.
Makes me wonder why I am so jealous at times and what it accomplishes.
Makes me so want to examine the Scriptures daily.
Oh, to receive the Word with eagerness! And what happens to eager hearts? Psalm 97:17 Light is sown, and joy too! We have no idea what God is doing in our hearts this very moment if we will just surrender this present circumstance, this present hour, to Him Alone. Light and Joy will grow in His Time---and He is always on Time.
Do you ever lapse back into an English class when you read the Psalms? I started taking note of the personifications and metaphors in the most beautiful Psalms today. Beautiful word pictures of hills singing and rivers clapping their hands, and trees singing for joy; the earth trembling, the sea roaring, the field exulting, and mountains melting like wax. All in worship to the Lord, His glory, His Strength.
ReplyDeleteThe splendor of holiness - nothing is like It, and no worship we could offer would ever be enough. But it delights our hearts and His. Worship Him this day in song and with your whole being. He is worthy of our praise and our joy overflows.
And Bev, praying for your wedding preparations. Just a few more days. Praying you find His Peace in the middle of the chaos, and joy to be your abiding theme these next few days. Love you.
Thanks for your prayers for Isabella's baptism. It was a thoughtful day to pray for my son and daughter in law in how they bring her up and for her sweet soul to be His alone.
I read the blog later in the day than usual. The passages made me want to dance. God is so above all my thoughts and praises. I don't even have words!
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful to have Christ living in our hearts, I want everyone to know He is alive, waiting and ready to do great things.
Today, I had lunch with a friend. She is having a difficult time with so many things. Please keep Carla in your prayers.
