Read with me cover-to-cover in 2025. Start the Old & New Testaments together on January 1. About 3 chapters per day. About 15 minutes of your day. Join us as the axe of Biblical Love thaws the frozen parts (66LL) in our hearts. My focus in 2025 is counseling yourself from the Word. We average 60,000 thoughts per day. Take courage. Talk to yourself from Truth. I am more emotional and pensive and overly-sensitive than most. I need to know how to truly live.

Hopefully it was the Wise move for this sister to make her son (who will soon be going back down to North Carolina) and husband (who she has been struggling with lately) deviled eggs first thing this morning instead of finding one particular verse that stood out to her.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice day, my Wise sisters!
Love you,
Angie xoxo
For me, today is not the best translation using the Message. I don't like name calling, slang, or trying to make words more relevant (i.e. blockhead, whore, mall) I struggle with the degree it personifies wisdom, sanity, knowledge, discretion...It just feels irreverant. Probably a wise woman would not have commented.
ReplyDelete"Blessed is the man who listens to me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors. For whoever finds me finds life, and obtains favor from the LORD"-NKJV
Just last evening, I underlined a prayer in Henry Nouens'"The Dance of Life." The first sentence of the prayer: Lead me into this silence so that my words may be spoken in your name and thus be fruitful.
ReplyDeleteSo first, forgive me for my negativity & wrestling with all this out loud. Second, I pray for restraint for this mouth, and His wisdom and discretion.
On another note, Karen M, who joined us last year reading the Bible chronologically, is having gall bladder surgery on Friday. Please keep her in your prayers. Her blog is "A Time for Everything" if you'd like to drop by and leave her a note. http://poppybird-karen.blogspot.com/
