Read with me cover-to-cover in 2025. Start the Old & New Testaments together on January 1. About 3 chapters per day. About 15 minutes of your day. Join us as the axe of Biblical Love thaws the frozen parts (66LL) in our hearts. My focus in 2025 is counseling yourself from the Word. We average 60,000 thoughts per day. Take courage. Talk to yourself from Truth. I am more emotional and pensive and overly-sensitive than most. I need to know how to truly live.

July 14 ... Proverbs 4 - 6 "The Brighter You Shine"
“The ways of right-living people glow with light; the longer they live, the brighter they shine. But the road of wrongdoing gets darker and darker...so keep vigilant watch over your heart for its where life starts." No manual for living right. No formulas. God gave us hearts that want to walk the Narrow Road and feel this appeal of wisdom or feel the shame of exposure... Respect this letter as a guide to skillful living that MAY produce blessings today and WILL produce blessings when My Son returns. And in this life, skillful living witll better accomplish My Purposes." 66 LL. So don't just live to "escape the flames." If you don't want to know Him better here, You won't want Him there. What stands in your way of wanting the Love of your God more than anything else?

This won't make sense if you read it. PBPWMGINFY.
ReplyDeleteI have to land this quote here. I'm on my cell and have nowhere to put it until I can check in with my bible study. So here it is:
"When God has ordained the humbling, you can be wholly (holy) certain that His Love is the catalyst." KM Nothing can touch us unless it is out of His Love.
Love it that beautiful Boaz (I know we're supposed to say handsome but I like alliterations) "was impressed with Ruth beyond beauty, heritage, culture, status, wealth." KM We live in such a celebrity society. Repentant tears over here for wanting my life to look good and improve my children more than I want holiness. Do I want present comfort in my relational pain and physical pain or eternal joy?
Reminds me of: "You have been graced with a disaster that your soul requires to find its way back home." SJOC. I need to think more about how I'm relating to my Beautiful God and those in my life rather than focusing on getting my life and my children together.
See...I told you it wouldn't make sense here...ha. Technology is crazy for me these days---I know so little, enough to be creative but can't get into programs sometimes. I know. I know---you don't have a clue what I'm talking about.
Love you guys...still on a road trip. Hope I can come back and erase this...

Bev,
ReplyDeleteI "get it." I'm soooo loving this Ruth study...was touched by the same things u mentioned here.
Blessings,
Donna Hazelwood
The ways of right-living people glow with light;
ReplyDeletethe longer they live, the brighter they shine.
"Pay close attention."... "Listen closely"... "Don't procrastinate"...
WARNING, WARNING, WARNING...
If I've learned anything in my 48 years, I've learned that all of the sin in my life (making life miserable for other people, etc.) causes stress and stress I believe stress causes sickness and premature aging... and wrinkles. I sure don't want to get worse as I get older, so I better listen closely and pay attention! I want my light to shine brighter, the older I get!
xoxo
I loved seeing the wedding photos! The family is beautiful. I have been going through KM's Ruth Bible Study too.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the day!

“The ways of right-living people glow with light; the longer they live, the brighter they shine. But the road of wrongdoing gets darker and darker—“
ReplyDeleteThis verse reminds me of my 80 year old cousin who is a delight. She never has a cross word, always cares about your concerns, and she does everything with love and joy. One day a few months ago, we took her to a wedding reception out of town. We didn’t get her back to her apartment until almost 1 a.m. Even though she was exhausted, she graciously thanked us, hopped out of the back seat, and kind of skipped in, smiled at the guard, and said, “I’m out late tonight, Danny, aren’t I!” She’s the kind that knows everyone’s name, and calls just to see how you’re doing on ordinary days.
If I have the opportunity to grow old, I want to be just like her. My cousin didn’t just wake up one day as a delightful old person. She was joyful all her life. I’ve known people that get more and more bitter as they grow old. I have a tendency to be negative and that root will take a bigger and bigger hold of my life, the road darker and darker, if I don’t start now in “the ways of right living people that glow with light.” I want to glow, too, Angie!
Keep vigilant watch over your heart; that's where life starts.
And here is where reflecting that life I desire starts—keeping vigilant watch over your heart. Joyful, abundant Life begins right here.
Donna, I am so glad you shared your story of how God led you to go to Israel. Every once in a while we get to see how God uses us in most unexpected ways, and I so appreciate your taking time to tell me. I would love to go to Israel one day. You are a joy here on String.
ReplyDeleteCici and Michelle-praying that God shows up in big ways in your circumstances, but moreso, in your big hearts for Him.
Angie, So glad you're back this morning reading The Message, even if you want your NIV. I promise He has a blessing for you in The Message. Love you!
Sylvia, Thank you for blessing us yesterday with words for each of us. You are so gracious and filled with love.
Deborah, Praying for your tender heart this morning. God is using those places and gives you words that reach deeply in my heart. The kind of wisdom you share comes only from spending time at His feet.
Mary Lou, You encourage me so with your comments. Even when you're in a hard place, your dear heart tells of the years He has cultivated such love and compassion for others. I'm praying for you and your son this morning.
Jenn and Jen, I know you're here reading--so, so pleased He's called you here. It's life changing to be in His Word with these dear women!
Bev, land here any time. Your words preach. And your heart's love mirrors His. Praying for your rest as you get away for a few days.
I had similar thoughts this morning to Angie and Annette. My 85-year-old aunt is a godly, delightful woman. She never complains about her retirement home; she just does what she can to make everyone else's life better. It's a stark contrast to how my grandfather ended up in life - bitter, resentful, complaining, lecherous.
ReplyDeleteI've observed that as we age, our filters begin to disappear. It's harder for us to hide who we really are on the inside. The "real" person comes out. Oh how I pray that I will be more like Jesus when I'm old and not just displaying more of my sinful flesh.
I will take these words to heart today. "The ways of right-living people glow with light; the longer they live, the brighter they shine. But the road of wrongdoing gets darker and darker - travelers can't see a think; they fall flat on their faces."
One other thought that came to mind - so much of this talks about listening to the teachings of your mother and father. What about those of us who either don't have moms and/or dads or have foolish parents? I pray right now that God will reach into their lives and parent them with His wisdom.
Well, this is a dose of medicine for our sick society today.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone need this medicine?
I do.
I cried when I read the part about not being lazy and getting out of bed.
How many people are slumbering through life...not even aware of the consequences of their wasted time on this earth. What's wasting my time???
And then the part about adultery. How can we not weep over this? How many godly women have had been forsaken by men who entangle themselves in adulterous relationships?
How am I unfaithful to God? Oh, Lord, let me spend my last dime on another dose of wisdom from You.
Life 101...basic purity. We have lost our shame here in America.
But God never changes.
