April 7 "Someone Just Helped" 2 Samuel 8-12

I'm so smitten by the story of Mephibosheth, the one who was born lame in both of his feet, the one who now eats at the king's table. 2 Samuel 9:7.  All because he waited for God all his days.  He was looking for handouts---his Hand was up to the One Who truly cared about him.

The verse asks:  Is there Someone in the house of David who I could help.  Someone.  Not because of anything they did but because of who they are and who they belong to.  May we be found faithful as Someone looks upon us.

Grateful for the Someone's I've never met:
Someone who breathed his last breath.  But before that, he reached deep into his pockets more than anyone else ever had for us.  He gave my son a college education.
Someone who offered their home to us for a long while---and we got back on our feet again.

May we be that Someone.  It is better to give than to receive.
