January 15 "God Sent Me Even Here" Genesis 42-43

Dear Children, a dad finds out today that his son is really alive. He thought long and deep over past decade daily about his son feared dead. What tragedy. But the son when found says to his guilty brothers: "It was not you who sent me here, but God." Gen 43:8. Oh that we may live with that perspective in all our sorrows.

  1. God's ways are not our ways. He took what Joseph's brothers meant for evil and used it to position Joseph to bring the Hebrews to Egypt and away from certain poverty and most likely starvation and its effects due to the famine. Joseph is an example of keeping his focus on God, walking in love, and forgiving others.
