December 17 "Wrong Motives" James 2, 3, 4

You ask with wrong motives to spend it on your own selfish desires. James 4:3.  Am I thinking about the right country?  Living for this country or the next one to come?

It's a beautiful balm of words.  Thin and thick letters spellling out an invitation:  Draw near to God and he will draw near to you.  James 4:8.

And the point of the passage is that we end up doing what God wants us to. For if we don't do what we ought---omission---and we do what we fancy---comission---we still own the fact that we live for this world and not Another.

Are we praying the language of lust or
the Language of Grace?
Examine your conscience.
Examine your prayers.
Examine your life.

Let the Holy Spirit blow the whistle of love.

DEAR GOD, PLESE CHANGE ME IN MY 10,000 MOMENTS OF omission and comission.  It's all sin against You and You Only.  Help me to own my own stuff today.  I pray the Language of Grace upon Grace on all of us.  For Your Glory!
