January 8 "In The Land God Handpicked" Genesis 25-26

"God proportions his people's trials to their strength." That's the mantra from the commentaries on Genesis 26:2. Abraham and Jacob both were told to go to Egypt. Not so with Isaac:  "Don't go down into Egypt" ...
"Live in this land,
 I will be with you,
and will bless you."
Genesis 26:3

DEAR GOD, PLEASE CHANGE US IN ONE OF OUR TEN THOUSAND LITTLE MOMENTS, Let us find comfort in the land where You have placed us to truly live.  Let us find Your Presence.  Let us find Your Rest.  Nothing else is worth living for.  This land under my feet, let it support this arching bowing swaying soul today.  You know the strength that stretches us beyond repair.  You know the ways you have fashioned our inmost thoughts.  Help us find You today even in this place where we sit.  It's a brand new lonely place for me today.  May I be more concerned about how others feel in their place than mine.

  1. It looks like you are using a different reading plan than the one I hyperlinked at the right. Would you send me the URL and I can edit it to match up. Love, A

  2. I'm laughing. Cause I am trying to use the reading plan you hyperlinked, Annette. Am I wrong? Am I tired? Am I blind? Let me go check!
