Conniving.
Supplanted.
Oh Jacob! What disregard you displayed toward your dad because you wanted a blessing.
The Bible reads me: am I scheming to make things turn out the best?
Can I leave the results to God?
Genesis 27.
And Jacob is sent into exile to flee his brother's footsteps.
And God Himself appears to Jacob, an ascending ladder right straight up to the skies,
And God says: "Behold, I am with you and I will keep you wherever you go." Gen 28:15 God knew Jacob would walk into servitude of his uncle's making. Huge Hardships!
Uncle Laban would deceive deeply annually arrogantly.
"Surely the LORD is in this place,
and I was not aware of it." Genesis 28:16
DEAR GOD, PLEASE CHANGE US IN ONE OF OUR TEN THOUSAND LITTLE MOMENTS,
You know the hard times on the icy roads ahead for each of us. And You promise to be with us. And to give us a Word when we are so weighted down with woe. And Your Word will melt us like snow. Oh God, open our doubting eyes to see that lovely Land, that long Hand, that longing Plan. May we find You this day.
PHOTO: Hill Country. Storied shadows spill onto the sand just before sunrise. Is the LORD in this place where I am today? Will I know it?
