"What Does the Lord Require?
“With what shall I come before the Lord,
and bow myself before God on high?
Shall I come before him with burnt offerings,
with calves a year old?
Will the Lord be pleased with thousands of rams,
with ten thousands of rivers of oil?
Shall I give my firstborn for my transgression,
the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?”
and bow myself before God on high?
Shall I come before him with burnt offerings,
with calves a year old?
Will the Lord be pleased with thousands of rams,
with ten thousands of rivers of oil?
Shall I give my firstborn for my transgression,
the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?”
He has told you, O man, what is good;
and what does the Lord require of you
but to do justice, and to love kindness,
and to walk humbly with your God?
and what does the Lord require of you
but to do justice, and to love kindness,
and to walk humbly with your God?
Beware of people who tell you just how to do that.

I was up way too late for being home sick today. Tried to get as much squeezed into last night as I could---why? I need to take better care of myself --- I have been really sick this week --- but yet as I try, I can't get done what needs to be done. May God break through on me. My apologies for not doing the post. It was last on my list at 1:45am (and I forgot) and it should have been first on my list. I think there is a verse about that---forgetting about God. Been thinking about deeper repentance all week. Love you guys!
ReplyDeleteActs 22:10 Just as Paul understood Who was talking to him, we to understand Him when He speaks to us.
ReplyDeleteMicah 6:8 I want to walk more humbly with Him. Show me where I can be more merciful just as You have been so merciful to me. 7:7 I will wait in hope for the Lord. He hears me! 7:8 Do not gloat over me (or my family) enemy. Though I/they have fallen, I/they WILL rise. Though I/they sit in darkness, the LORD will be my/their light! Thank you for forgiving me, delighting in showing me mercy and for Your continual compassion towards me. There is no one like YOU. (vs18-19).
Praying for your recovery Bev! I thank God for your faithful example and encouraging heart
Mary Lou – thanking God for the daily steps your son is talking toward Him and knowing that He is in God’s loving arms of protection. God will restore what the locusts have destroyed. I cling to that promise for my sons as well!
Jan - praising Him that your daughter and granddaughters are at home with you.
Annette – praying for your family – and thank you for your daily encouraging words
Angie – thanking him for your smile and heart that seeks after Him
Hello, 'Nise! That's one of my favorite verses--Micah 6:8--Particularly like it in The Message-
ReplyDeleteBut he’s already made it plain how to live, what to do,
what God is looking for in men and women.
It’s quite simple: Do what is fair and just to your neighbor,
be compassionate and loyal in your love,
And don’t take yourself too seriously—
take God seriously.
Such a good word for me today. Blessings on you all!
