Psalm 22:22 and John 10:9 "Keep Telling" (May 26)

What do people trust in today?  Success.  Reputation.  Ambition.  Personal Peace.  Affluence.
In John's day, they trusted in horses and chariots.

I spent many days as a child in the midst of trouble.  Psalm 29:7 ~ God answers us in the day of trouble.  He is the Door.  I cannot remember much about my childhood.  I do remember one afternoon that went south.  I've reflected on the terror of the moment way-too-many times in my adult life.  I asked the LORD, one time, where was He when this tragedy struck?  Immediately, John 10:9 came to mind---He was the Door, standing at my door, saving me from trouble.  I made it through.  I'm still here.

I love David's mantra in Psalm 22:22 - Keep Telling, Keep Trusting.  Even when you feel like Psalm 22:1 Forsaken.  A heart like melted wax.  A strength dried up like a prune.

I cannot change my present circumstances.  I can believe that the Good Shepherd is standing at my door.  So, I will keep telling of His Love, His Kindness.  I mean, so far, He has rescued me again and again.  And He will take care of me.

  1. Psalm 21 O Lord, in your strength the king rejoices,
    and in your salvation how greatly he exults!
    2 You have given him his heart's desire
    and have not withheld the request of his lips. Selah
    3 For you meet him with rich blessings;
    you set a crown of fine gold upon his head.
    4 He asked life of you; you gave it to him,
    length of days forever and ever.
    5 His glory is great through your salvation;
    splendor and majesty you bestow on him.
    6 For you make him most blessed forever;
    you make him glad with the joy of your presence.
    7 For the king trusts in the Lord,
    and through the steadfast love of the Most High he shall not be moved.

  2. We ask for so much, and He continues to give until our life is so overflowing with stuff, we begin to value the gift more than the giver.
    He who has made me and given abundantly to me, and blessed me, has given my heart a call to give with open hands and a full heart. He is Lord of all the universe, lord of the living and Lord of the dead. He has given me the heart to change, to share, to love.

  3. I can thankfully say this morning, the Lord has answered me in my day of trouble (Ps 20:1). When I needed a word to sustain me, He heard me cry out and was right there(Ps. 20:9). Thank you Lord! The situation is still the same, but He is there right in the middle of it. The thief comes only to steal and destroy, but He came to give life, abundant life! Luke 10:10). He is my shepherd.

  4. John 10:27-28

    "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand."

    He is greater, stronger than any force here. He will not let go of us. Some days I can't help but feel like I'm free-falling, but I cannot go so far that He is not there. May His glory be shown through His servants.

    He answers and you testify so sweetly, Nise'.

  5. I have had a myriad of computer issues the past 3 days. Plus I had graduation and couldn't get to the help store. My apologies. Verizon Wireless straightened it out today. Thanks for your patience.
