2 Sam 24:10 and John 6:64 "Heartstruck" (May 19)

Oh!  To be like this humble servant in 2 Samuel who was so willing to take a look at what was going on inside of his heart.

2 Samuel 24:10 ~ David's heart struck him, after he numbered the people.  While he was taking care of his business, David's heart grew cold toward the stirrings of his heart.  But, wait, NO MORE...Heartstruck!

John 6:64 "The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life."  Oswald Chambers writes that the Words from God are ones He speaks this day to us, not the past, according to the tense of the verb in the Greek.  God is speaking Spirit and life.  And if we are listening, our heart is struck.  So, where am I this day?  Heartstruck or Heartless?

  1. Isn't it the Miracle of the Scriptures, to be valid and updated and relevant, yet constant, never changing, a Rock to which to cling!

We read the same verses that we read the year before and the year before that, and they hold new, relevant, VITAL, HEART-STRIKING info that truly peirce and convict, love and heal.

God looks on our heart, and assesses, "What does she need?" And He provides through His Word, His Holy Spirit to give us a brand new heart, as needed!

Busy, busy days lately for us, and trying as predicted (doing a study on marriage, so you know where Satan will get me.) The challenges are not too much for Him, if only I give them to Him, instead of dwelling on the garbage.

Love that word picture, Bev, of heartstruck!

  2. I so agree Annette! I was struck by the thought that as I read..."His Word was (is) on my tongue." (2Sam. 23:3).
