I Sam 7:12 and Luke 18:41 "I Raise My Ebenezer" (April 24)

I do not know what God is doing in my life.  I am at the end of my rope.  So, I've tied a knot and I am holding FAST.  But this is not about how strong I am.  I am free falling and expect a very Good God to catch me, Someday.

Meanwhile, this wild ride just became way more scarier.  So, I'll set up a stone between Austin and Fort Worth and call it Ebenezer.

I Sam 7:12 Then, Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen and called its name Ebenezer for he said, “Till now the Lord has helped us.”

God has helped me to this point in my life. I know He will help me again and again. I need Him so. I don't know how I can get out of where I am, but in this dark night, I'm reaching out for a Hand, hoping I will find His soon, to direct and disrupt, no demands.

So, grateful to God for a standing invitation.  Luke 18:41 ~ "What do you want me to do for you?"  Could you, ... I know not what to ask before a holy God ... except, make me holy.

  1. Bev, I pray for you that very soon in His perfect timing that you will feel the hand of our very good God holding on to you as you hold on to the knot at the end of the rope. Will be praying for you to hold tight.

In today's reading something jumped off the page....Samuel is telling the people that IF they will return to the Lord their God and put all ALL other idols and worship Him only that He will protect them and provide for them. I had to ask myslf, what other gods do I look to for my protection and provision? A Nise' said yesterday our faith is to be in God and not things and not the Ark, but the God of the Ark.

How thankful I am for the String of Pearls and how much He has used you all in my life to bless me and make me think and grow in Him.

  2. Dear Bev, I can't think of a better answer to the question, "What do you want me to do for you?" Make us holy, Lord. And the scariest prayer of all, whatever it takes to get us there...He's seen us through, and He promises He will deliver us to the next beautiful World, where no more pain and sorrow exist, where Love Himself reigns with full dominion and glory.

Mary Lou, you are so right--God alone. God alone! Everything else is temporary trash. So in Whom or what or we putting our trust this day!

Raising my Ebeneezer stone testimony of God's faithfulness today with you, Pearls. Love you all.
