Lev 26:1 and Matt 11:25 "If You Have Anything Against" (March 8)

Whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone.  As I read this passage, I thought that maybe I just might have some little thing against someone:

* I recently saw an old friend who had not been kind to one of my children
* I pondered today on a rainy 3-hour drive about how unfair life is
* I read a tweet from someone who is not on my side
* I bumped up against someone's sin this day
* I didn't like what I heard this day
* I still remember ...

There is not one of the above that is sin...
unless I stand in unforgiveness and ponder, wonder, flounder.
If I carry these things in my heart, unforgiving,
Lev. 26:1 - I've set up an idol of appreciation, recognition, support, ministry, kindness ... idols are anything that keep us controlling our circumstances, steering our own lives.

    Continued obedience = continued blessing
    Continued disobedience = continued curse.

    The cursed fig tree bore no fruit in due season. The cursed man is hungry, barren.

    What about my forgotten (abandoned?) prayers---do not doubt, but believe they have already been received. Mountains move with belief in the Mountain Mover.

    Receive with an open hand. If we are clenching unforgiveness, our hands are not open and free to receive His blessings, His forgiveness.

  2. I am behind in reading because of coming to Florida...but I am going to catch up...will have plenty of time..sitting in the sun and reading to my hearts content.

    This reading grabbed my heart like never before. Oh, His beautiful promises for obedience and the curses for disobedience!!! Made tears come to my eyes. Made me cry out for forgiveness...for myself, my family, my country. What a wonderful beautiful God who is faithful and keeps His promises whether they be good for us or punish us.

    Loved what you wrote Bev, about different things that can be idols for us. I think we tend to think that they have to be some carved image that we can touch......yet so many of ours or within ourselves.
