To All of Us Who are Just like the Scribes:
You are not far from the Kingdom---you answered intelligently. But Kingdom living is from our hearts not our minds. We work so hard to figure everything out. Jesus replies to the Scribes: ‘Hear, O Israel! The Lord our God is one Lord, and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ The second is this, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” And we are so quick to ask how---so we can nail it down and build our own kingdom. This Kingdom living is the Breath of the Holy Spirit giving us life moment by moment to know what is truth and live it. Not just sitting in the pew today enjoying the sermon, but walking out the church to live a little different than I did last week.PRAYER FROM PSALMS
Psalm 145:13
Your Kingdom os everlasting.
Your Dominion endures through all generations.
God, You Alone are
Trustworthy in all Your promises and
Faithful in all You do.
Help us this week to stay alive in You.
"This Kingdom living is the Breath of the Holy Spirit giving us life moment by moment to know what is truth and live it."
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love this definition of Kingdom living, Bev. Experientially learning to live each day in the grace given is a heart thing, not a head.
May we all rest in the boundless Grace breathed into us this day. Being ready for His Return really is about loving God and letting God love others through us.
1 Cor. 13:13 "And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love."
