September 11 "Dry Bones" Ezekiel 37:3-6

Breathe on me, O God!
Come, Breath!
We have just lived through the destitution and destruction of Judah and Jerusalem who lived in their many sins.  And here Elijah sits!  Smack dab in the middle of the valley of dry bones.  Dry Bones!  They had been dead for a while!  This country is a picture of dry bones meeting up with a prophet's holy terrible awakening words.  Are we in a similar place where we've sat way-too-content at being disengaged, disgenuine.  Dry Bones Live.

Ezek 37: 3-6 “Son of man,can these bones live?” And I answered, “O Lord God, You know.”  Again He said to me, “Prophesy over these bones and say to them, ‘O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord.  Thus says the Lord God to these bones, ‘Behold, I will cause breath to enter you that you may come to life.  I will put sinews on you, make flesh grow back on you, cover you with skin and put breath in you that you may come alive; and you will know that I am the Lord.’”  How glorious is this news!

We move from an awakening to a Holy God ...
to an encouraging word of acceptance and deliverance and restoration by a Good God ...
A Vision of a Resurrection.  A Glorious Resurrection.
Never seen anything like it.
Our lives can go from death to life.
Come, O Breath!
Prophesy!
"And let our God own his own appointment." M. Henry

PRAYER FROM PSALMS
Psalm 30:11-12 ~ I cannot keep silent!  You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy.  God, I cannot remove sackcloth.  Thank You for forgiveness and power to live this life.  Thank you for waking me up!
