August 27 "Rise From Evil" Jeremiah 51:64

Destruction comes.
They were not thinking about God.
They didn't expect such ruin.
"Wherever we are,
in the greatest depths,
at the greatest distances,
we are to remember the Lord our God.
In the times of the greatest fears and hopes,
it is most needful to remember the Lord."
Matthew Henry

"When we see what this world is,
how glittering its shows,
and how flattering its proposals,
let us read in the book of the Lord
that is shall shortly be desolate."
Matthew Henry

Babylon will not be able to rise from the evil.
Jeremiah 51:64
May we be gripped by what God is doing,
and pray for revival in our hearts first,
in our families,
in our country.

PRAYER FROM PSALMS
Oh God!  Make us like those who dream.  Restore our joy, our hope, our vision.
Like streams in the desert.  May we go out this day weeping, bearing seed for sowing.
Psalm 126

  1. Pray, pray, pray for the unsaved and believers who need to rededicate their lives to the Lord. Pray for our country. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem.

  2. All that glitters and turns heads and lures is not gold. Babylon's judgment reaches to the heavens. Flee from Babylon and save your life. (51:6) God is ready to judge. Vengeance is His, Vengeance for His temple, His people Israel. Yet He notes that they are not without sin. (51:5)

Another Babylon will rise and fall sure as these days of Nebuchadnezzar. The harlot of Revelation, Babylon will surely see her doom. God warns His people here "do not let your heart grow faint." Surely seeing this magnitude of God's judgment could take your breath away. Magnify that a hundredfold and we have the latter days of Revelation, where Judgment will come on Babylon again.

Pray for Israel, and side with Israel. For we want to be on God's side.

I agree with Annette. Pray, pray, pray. Things are about to get ugly. May we be found safely protected in Christ.
