July 22 "Seeing Your Likeness" Proverbs 27:20

"The eyes of man are never satisfied."  Proverbs 27:20
Sin can never satisfy us. Our eyes lie. They tell us that if we just had that thing, that experience, that person, we would be so filled. But filled with what? Good feelings; happy thoughts, great times. We may experience pleasure that was not meant for us to have. If this bible truth is so---and it is---then, what's the point here? What truly can satisfy our soul? Any thing in this world?

"Thou hast made us for Thyself and our hearts are restless until we find our rest in Thee." (Augustine, Confessions.)

PRAYER FROM PSALMS
Dear God, Would you take Psalm 17:15 and help us to flesh it out in our lives a little more this day than yesterday.  "In righteousness, I will see Your Face, when I awake.  I will be satisfied with Seeing Your Likeness."  May I recognize and repent from what I do daily that is really satisfying myself
