"Like a city that is broken into and without walls
Is a man who has no control over his spirit." Prov 25:28
What steals our peace?
A phone call.
A conversation.
A betrayal.
A look.
A word.
An insinuation.
If we have no say, no command, no conscience over our anger, then there goes our peace. This isn't about practicing doing penance for our sin. It is all about giving up our plans, our desires, our thoughts, our actions to a Sovereign God. A Beautiful God. Dead to the pleasures of sin. Dead to the praise of men. Dead to my own plans. Dead to principles that make life work. Still reeling from the Crabb quote that I am free from doing what I please, what others want.
PRAYER FROM PSALMS
Dear God, When you favored me, you made my royal mountain stand firm; but when you hid your face, I was dismayed. To You, LORD, I call; to the Lord I cry for mercy. """""""What is gained if I am silenced, if I go down to the pit. Will the dust praise you? Will it proclaim your faithfulness. Hear and be merciful to me. LORD, be my help Psalm 30:6-12.
Today we receive more instructions concerning our mouths and fools. Lord, I want my words to glorify You and edify the Body of Christ. I want my thoughts to be Your thoughts. Holy Spirit, reveal to me the broken places.
