Read with me cover-to-cover in 2025. Start the Old & New Testaments together on January 1. About 3 chapters per day. About 15 minutes of your day. Join us as the axe of Biblical Love thaws the frozen parts (66LL) in our hearts. My focus in 2025 is counseling yourself from the Word. We average 60,000 thoughts per day. Take courage. Talk to yourself from Truth. I am more emotional and pensive and overly-sensitive than most. I need to know how to truly live.

March 13 "The Sun Stood Still & The Moon Stopped" Joshua 10:13
There has never been a day like this one, before or since, says the Bible. It was an impressive movement of the Spirit of the Creator stopping His Creation ... Giving the Israelites a little more time, a full day to avenge their enemies, and scatter back to their cities. The words tumble out of Joshua's mouth, out of his heart of faith, effortlessly and humbly. And God's Providential Hand stops a sun and a moon. Two lights, frozen for a day, so God could give them more time. God could fight for them in their own silence in the midst of show-stopping interruption. What stops me in my tracks? This Word of God does. This Providential Hand does. This Creator of All does. I need to be stopped in my tracks, my trails of tears. What is God doing in my life? I don't know. This I know, God is moving on my behalf---His Power. And He will stop the sun for me. I need be still. Joshua 10:12 is written in poetic form---beautiful metaphors. Joshua 10:13 shifts back to the narrative. No poetic license here---just the Providential Hand of God in their lives and in ours. My Soul Be Still.
PRAYER FROM PSALMS
God, You spoke Psalm 33:9 and it came to be. You commanded and it stood firm. And you stopped it all for one full day---be still O Sun, stop O Moon---and you did that for all of the Israelites, a wishy-washy bunch. And you are doing it for us, 2000 years later. Thank You for Your Power in our lives! Thank You for Your Word that stirs up breezes and thoughts and hearts. Psalm 147:18 - You send Your Word and melt us all. Stir us up and let the waters flow.

Your Word, O Lord, stops us in our tracks. Awestruck as we see Your Power. You melt hearts. Fight for us. Win battles against us.
ReplyDeleteYour Word is beautiful, powerful, fully able to accomplish. Plant Yourself firmly, deeply within our hearts that Your Work may be accomplished among us this day.
Please pray for my daughter Lauren today as she undergoes shoulder surgery at 10 a.m.. She has strayed from her faith, and needs the Lord so much right now. She is scared of having a seizure with the anesthesia. She's anxious about much. Please pray for her comfort and peace and authentic acknowledgement of the Lord' and His Hand on her life. Thank you so much.

DeleteLauren is doing well. She had totally torn through the labrum which keeps your shoulder from dislocating. They were able to completely repair it. Now she just needs rest and God's glorious healing. Thank you for your prayers!
ReplyDeleteOh, that is so good. May she heal quickly. May God tenderly speak and love and care for her through all of you!
