July 19 ... Proverbs 19 - 21 "Continue Asking Questions; Stop Demanding Answers"

"Continue asking your questions.  They are good. But stop demanding answers.  Live those questions long enough in My Presence, and you will run out of words.  You will then catch a brief glimpse of Who I AM that will seal your lips." 66 LL  Tremble before my power and surrender to God's Goodness.  This is about God changing me on the inside.  From the Inside Out.  Not just about keeping my mouth shut.  What would it look like for me to live those questions long enough in God's Presence, no matter how I look?

P:roverbs 19:21 - We humans keep brainstorming options and plans, but God's purpose prevails.
Proverbs 20:5 - 5 Knowing what is right is like deep water in the heart; a wise person draws from the well within.
Proverbs 21:23 Watch your words and hold your tongue; you'll save yourself a lot of grief.
Proverbs 21:30-31 Nothing clever, nothing conceived, nothing contrived, can get the better of God.
Proverbs 19:31 Do your best, prepare for the worst— then trust God to bring victory.

  1. Sinners are always wanting what they don't have;
the God-loyal are always giving what they do have. (Proverbs 21:26)

Good leadership is a channel of water controlled by God; he directs it to whatever ends he chooses. (Proverbs 21:1)

I could really relate to the verses regarding work, leadership and honesty today. I need to keep surrendering my job situation, especially Sunday nights when I have trouble sleeping. He is in control. It's exhausting when I try to figure it out on my own.

    Happy Monday, everyone!
    Love,
    Angie xoxo

  2. May we all be still before God long enough to catch that brief glimpse of the great I AM. His wisdom is timeless. His joy complete.

Fear-of-God is life itself, a full life, and serene—no nasty surprises. I long for serenity, and I dislike surprises. God’s peace isn’t about circumstances—just resting in Him in the storms.

Ears that hear and eyes that see—we get our basic equipment from God! Basic equipment to navigate life, I pray for eyes and ears attentive to Jesus in every detail.

Don't be too fond of sleep; you'll end up in the poorhouse. Wake up and get up; then there'll be food on the table. I love early morning, but my definition of early seems to get later and later.

Gossips can't keep secrets, so never confide in blabbermouths. And my addendum-If you don’t want it told, don’t tell it.

God is in charge of human life, watching and examining us inside and out. That is one my favorite parts of Pearls-we get to see each other from the inside first, like God sees us.

Third time in today’s readings so I finally have ears to hear: Better to live in a tent in the wild
than with a cross and petulant spouse.

Knowing what is right is like deep water in the heart; a wise person draws from the well within. Deep water in the heart—such a beautiful simile for God’s wisdom.

Watch your words and hold your tongue; you'll save yourself a lot of grief. Enough said.

Do your best, prepare for the worst—then trust God to bring victory. I can get tripped up on all three aspects of this wisdom. Do I ever really do my best, prepare enough? And I certainly don’t trust enough. These are words that require action. Victory awaits!

  3. I have all of the spouse proverbs unlined in my Bible, so it was fun to read them in the Message as well. Good reminders about being a blessing to my husband and not a curse!

I liked each of the verses that Bev, Angie, and Annette pointed out. A few others stood out to me as well:

Love and truth form a good leader; sound leadership is founded on loving integrity.

We justify our actions by appearances; God examines our motives.

Take good counsel and accept correction - that's the way to lives wisely and well.

Smart people know how to hold their tongue; their grandeur is to forgive and forget.

Lord, may I take Your wisdom to heart and stop demanding answers.
