February 14 "An Audible Voice" Numbers 7

Every tribe brought magnanimous multiple offerings alike to dedicate the altar.  Silver plates; shekels numbering in the hundreds; sprinkling bowls galore; sacrificial livestock proud.  And the Lord matched this grandeur with his very own Voice.  Audible words from The Living Word.
Numb 7:89

PHOTO:  I heard an audible Voice one day as I walked this very beach.  A young lady stopped my stroll and said:  "I came up to this beach to read my Bible.  And God just told me to stop you and tell you that this thing you are going through is from Him.  He is with you.  You are going to be okay."  She could have never known.  I faced the biggest crisis, the Greatest Divide, of my life.  And matching the grandeur of the skies and sea, I heard an audible Voice from a mouthpiece of God. More than a match.

  1. 89 When Moses entered the tent of meeting to speak with the Lord, he heard the voice speaking to him from between the two cherubim above the atonement cover on the ark of the covenant law. In this way the Lord spoke to him.

Oh to hear the voice of the LORD.

    My prayer today:
LORD, I want to hear your voice.

    1. I just cannot imagine what all this looked like. I mean hundreds of thousands of Israelites mustered into tribes, into squadrons. So organized. Presenting thousands of grand gifts. And what do they hear----the Voice of God. It's just stunning! God outdid all the grandeur with a "word." Oh to hear, like you said!

  2. A Word from His Mouth spoken over us. Our hearts long to hear, but we are so rarely stilled to listen. You both hear from our God so sweetly! Probably because you are willing to be stil to listen.

And they came and they came and presented their offerings one by one, tribe by tribe, bringing the best of what they had to lay at altar of His Feet. This last Sunday, soul after soul came and presented themselves at His Feet, immersed their heads into the baptismal waters and raised to walk in new life with Him. So moving to see without a single word preached, a single lesson, His children are called to come forth, to present themselves, and forever to be changed. He still calls us: come to the altar.
