April 16 "Tell Me My Fortune Not My Faults" 1 Kings 12-14

Dear Kids, King Jeroboam, full of contempt. A dad with a dying child. Disguises his wife and sends her to the blind prophet. "Will my child die or live"? Wait. What about this---how could I help my child, dear man of God? How could I deal with my own heart as I sit in a lonely frigid dark chamber?  "It would have been more pious if he had desired to know wherefore God contended with him, had begged the prophet’s prayers, and cast away his idols from him; then the child might have been restored to him, as his hand was. But most people would rather be told their fortune than their faults or their duty." I Kings 14:4
