January 29 "To Be In His Presence" Exodus 33-35

Dear Sons,
Dear Daughters,
God promises us with His Very Self:
“My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” Exodus 33:14
One person said that God would have us to know Him by the "glory of His Mercy" more than by the "glory of His Majesty."  God is good.  His Goodness is His Glory.  He gives us rest not only from the duties and dangers.  He gives us rest into a promised land, an Eternal Land.  And we can know a part of that even now.  May you never stop til you find rest in Him.  I wonder where everyone is this moment, truly.  Wonder where I am.  May we all know His Presence and be satisfied with None Other.

PHOTO:  When you guys were little, I wanted no other presence.  And I never got over it.  I know what it means to long for someone's presence.

  2. And the Lord said, “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”

And Moses said to him, “If your presence does not go with us, do not take us up from here. For how will it be known then that I have found favor in your sight, I and your people? Is it not by your going with us, so that we will be distinguished, I and your people, from all the people who are on the face of the earth?”

I think as a Christian it can be forgotten in today's culture - we are to be distinguished as His people, not by legalism and pointing out others' sin, but by our love. We are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a people of his own, called out of darkness into His marvelous light.
