March 23 "Gospel Amnesia" Judges 13-15

"Again the Israelites did evil in the sight of the Lord."

The 12 stones were there to remind them of all God had done for them.
They walked on the floor of an ocean.
Never been done before or since.
All that deliverance.
Do we do the same?
Paul Tripp calls it Gospel Amnesia.
Luma Simms writes about it in "Gospel Amnesia" ---
It's "the affliction of assuming, forgetting, and marginalizing the Gospel."
"Unless we are overpowered by the grace and glory of God through self-conscious gospel immersion we can become ensnared to almost anything."  Luma Simms
Simms divides the Israelites' problems and your problems and mine into 3 modes:
Distraction---we are all way too busy.  Progression---we need to move into more important doctrine.  Presumption---we live different personalities at church than the rest of the week
