It was only an 11-day journey.
From Horeb to Kadesh-Barnea.
But the Israelites took 30+ years.
God had them turn back to the Red Sea.
He could not bring them to a place of rest,
when they had no rest, only grumbling & complaining.
What about me? What about you?
Am I finding a rest in the place where I am?
Not because of my circumstances but
Because of the economy of God's Grace on me.
Moses and Aaron both wrestled well at times
And then there were those times when
they couldn't seem to trust.
Their eyes won't see a
Promised Land.
We all mess up in our lives.

Yet, millions of people mourn the death of Aaron.
"All the Israelites mourned for Aaron for 30 days."
Numbers 20:29
DEAR GOD, PLEASE CHANGE ME IN ONE OF THESE 10,000 MOMENTS: Aaron and Moses both did not do what pleased you. Yet, You graced their lives with favor and love and kindness. O Dear God, have mercy on all of us, too. When we do not wrestle well, draw us in, and may we find You. And may we find our Rest in you, not in a promised land.

Thanks for the reminder. In a difficult place, remember we're just passing through on our way to eternity. Following faithfully isn't always easy. Moses and Aaron took matters into their own hands and as a result, Aaron died, Moses lost out on leading his people into the promised land. Life is uncertain and difficult. God continues to provide. He continues to bless us with gracious gifts to provide for our needs and to give hope.
