October 8 "Departure. Distant." Luke 15, 16

He began to be in want. Luke 15:14. What do we do with all our wants?  Do we direct our hearts to our Father?  Do we examine our hearts not to do penance but to face our need to be redeemed. Where do we go in want?

The prodigal son "came to himself." Luke 15:17.
And then, he came home. Luke 15:20.

"The great folly of sinners, and that which ruins them, is, being content in their lifetime to receive their good things." M. Henry

COME BOLDLY: Timeless Prayers
Our Father, may we be content in You and not just in what you do for us. Forgive us. It's not about excusing us. Forgive us.

PHOTO: The prodigal went down his own path. Content. Until. He came to himself and saw the vast distance he has put between him and God.
