Leviticus 25:12 "For it is a jubilee. It shall be holy to you."
Remember Lev 25:55, I am the LORD Who brought you out of Egypt. Into a wilderness. 40 years. And they wouldn't make it out alive. They didn't really want to be alive, did they? Did they want to be holy in a wilderness? They wanted to figure things out; they wanted their lives to be different. They didn't follow in glad obedience---they followed a bunch of rules and regulations. And they groaned, but not the kind of groaning that leads to love.
66LL says it best: God wants me to be holy in any situation more than He wants me to figure out what to do to improve any situation.
What appeal does holiness have in my own wilderness?
COME BOLDLY: Timeless Prayers
The words of Tim Keller ring in my ears: The world says "perform." God says "rest." Father, we ask that your Holy Spirit groan too deep for words in where we sit today. We all have a tough patch or two that needs mending. May our gaze be on Your honor not on home improvement.
PHOTO: A Pep Rally. Jubilee. Father, make me truly happy! Because of You. Sitting alone in the stands. Loving what I see. Stars in my eyes. So in love with my LORD.
For it is to me that the people of Israel are servants. They are my servants whom I brought out of the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.
ReplyDeleteHow easy it can be when life is busy to forget I am a servant of the Most High God 1st not 3rd, 4th, 5th, or next week. Forgive me Lord God for the times I have not kept You 1st in my life.
Kindness, protection, provision - in one word, REDEMPTION is found in Lev. 25. Sweet redemption of the poor, the oppressed, even the land. God takes such good care of us.
