December 8 "My Persuasions" Galatians 5:7

Breathtaking bucolic view from the kitchen window.
From the mundane tasks that persuade me to slide.
"It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm . . .". Galatians 5:1
How?
How do we do this, God?
Maybe I'm asking the wrong questions.

I have sat in front of a computer for the past 7 hours straight trying to get a few projects done. I've not opened one of those projects cause I don't want to. I've shimmered and skidded and surfed the internet. Now, I'm asking what's wrong with me. A similar default pattern of mine. I avoid things too difficult for me cause I can't do it well, perfectly. It's fear---fear of failure, fear of rejection.  I can't do it as well as you can, so I don't do it at all.  I even think it will take too much time from me, so I don't even start.

What encourages me are these thoughts from Crabb about Galatians:
"It's what's happening in you that matters, not what's happening to you. My Son has set you free to make choices that will release you from your compulsions. Only when you see deeply enough into your heart to recognize the corruption beneath the compulsions will you discover freedom."

Corruption beneath the compulsions.  I think my world doesn't want to go there.  Doesn't even want me to talk about this.  No, let's just try as hard as we can to live the Christian life and make it work. Don't focus on the negative.  Don't be  Oh, God, help us all.
Oh, Galatians 4:19, may Christ be formed in all of us this Christmas season. May I let Him. May I identify the persuasions that are not from the Beautiful God Who has called me~Gal 5:7. May I walk by the Spirit and not carry out these desires of my flesh~Gal. 5:16.

PRAYER FROM PSALMS
"Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting." Psalm 139:23-24.

  2. Good morning Pearls. Bev, I join you praying this day and this season for Chandler's family especially his mother, Lisa, as they walk through these difficult days.

"Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary. So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith."

Christmastime is the Season of Good Will toward men.

Let us spread to all the Christmas message of Life with generous hearts. The Lord as a Baby Savior came as a Promise and made us sons, heirs because of Christ Jesus. Let us rejoice in this Good News and live like the Redeemed!
