December 1 "Common Temptations" I Corinthians ❎10:21

"Whether, then, you eat or drink
or whatever you do,
do all to the glory of God."
I Corinthians 10:31.

Oh~For eyes of faith to see things as they really are.
Paul never laid eyes on Jesus yet he writes: I have seen the LORD.  Paul did not demand that He lay eyes upon His Beloved in order to believe.  He had eyes of faith.

When we eat next to the difficult person; when we encounter the rude one in a restaurant; when we face the distant relative who used to be so close; when we experience the closest of friends and family only to find they really don't care, may we stand up tall to trust.  Stand and take heed: everyone faces these common temptations---no temptation uncommon.  It's just people hide their ugliness---it's all good is what you usually hear.  They say:  we are not going to those places.  The truth says that if you confess your sins to one another, you will be healed.  People present the good side of themselves and ignore the rest, all the while saying that they want to know God.

Whatever we do today, big or small,  tiny or tall, may we do all to the Glory of God!

PRAYER FROM PSALMS
Save us, O God, from ourselves.
We gather.  We give thanks to Your Holy Name.
And may all these people say, Amen!  Psalm 106:47

  1. Don’t be so naive and self-confident. You’re not exempt. You could fall flat on your face as easily as anyone else. Forget about self-confidence; it’s useless. Cultivate God-confidence. 1 Cor 10:12 The Message

No test or temptation that comes your way is beyond the course of what others have had to face. All you need to remember is that God will never let you down; he’ll never let you be pushed past your limit; he’ll always be there to help you come through it."
    1 Cor 10:13

Cultivate God consciousness. He will never let you down!
