Or do you think lightly of the riches of His kindness and tolerance and patience, not knowing that the kindness of God leads you to repentance? Romans 2:4.
We are doing one of two things in how we live:
* Storing up wrath for yourself in the day of revelation, selfishly ambitious or
* doing good, seeking for glory and honor and immortality
Glory and Honor and Peace to everyone who does good, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For there is no partiality with God.
Someone once wrote: the ground is level at the feet of the Cross. Either we live for selfish ambition or God's will.

PRAYER FROM PSALMS
God, may Psalm 131:1 be the theme of our days:
My heart must not be haughty;
My eyes must not be lofty;
I must not walk in great matters;
I must not hide from You, God.
Upon occasion am I too casual in my thinking regarding His patience or do I actively strive to live for Him?
ReplyDeleteRomans 1:16-17 The Message
ReplyDeleteIt’s news I’m most proud to proclaim, this extraordinary Message of God’s powerful plan to rescue everyone who trusts him, starting with Jews and then right on to everyone else! God’s way of putting people right shows up in the acts of faith, confirming what Scripture has said all along: “The person in right standing before God by trusting him really lives.”
May it never be ordinary--this extraordinary Gift of Righteousness because of Christ Jesus. Because of His Love. So easy to get caught up in daily busyness and fail to appreciate "this extraordinary Message."
We had a wedding yesterday at the ranch and before I faced all the people and all the rush and frankly, the disappointment in the weather, God had to sit me down for an attitude adjustment. Either I was going to be about the junk or I could make a conscious choice to be about Joy and the Extraordinary Message. The weather didn't matter because the hearts joined were His first. The first question the minister asked of them, "Have you, Katy, have you, Jeff, prayed about this and are certain this is God's perfect will for your lives?" I loved that. The next thing he went on to ask the congregation was if they had made a decision for Christ. He got it. He had only a few minutes, so he got straight to the point, The Message of Life.
Bev, your words "may this be the theme of our days" threw a light on a good question for pause this day: what is the theme I sing today? It is either selfish gain or God's magnificent and spacious Will. Because the theme of this day eventually becomes the theme of my life...
wow, Annette....your last sentence packed a whallop!! Awesome...tons of truth in those few words. love you and them...spoke to me loud and clear.
