In any suffering I face, I must determine that it has been settled by the Council of God way before it comes to the Council of any tribe on this earth. Acts 27:1. I am always safe in His Hands. That is, if I have not shipwrecked my faith. No one wants a shipwreck of their goods much less than of their lives. But many forfeit their faith, shipwreck their Sovereign, betray the Beloved in the violent winds they face. "A violent wind, called Euraquilo [occurred];...and when the ship was caught in it and could not face the wind, we gave way to it and let ourselves be driven along...we were scarcely able to get the ship’s boat under control. Acts 27:17. Caught in life's malaise, we give way to it and let ourselves be driven not by a good conscience but by our bad circumstance. We live phony to ourselves looking good on paper but not-so-good behind closed doors where the least little thing irritates, ingratiates, and ignites. Wake us up to shipwreck of our soul. Paul was willing to endure four Councils and a savage shipwreck for the sake of the Gospel.
PRAYER FROM PSALMS
O God, we open our Bibles to Psalm 107:43 ~ "Whoever is wise, let him attend to these things; let them consider the steadfast love of the LORD." May that be our driven goal when we are caught in the middle of loss, the smack dab middle of life, this day. Forever more.
