Joel 3:10 "Let the Weak Say: WARRIOR!" (Sept 4)

Every time we read the Bible, we must ask ourselves four monosyllabic words:
What is the Point?

All 3 passages today are breathed into our existence this day by a very Good God.

We must destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the Knowledge of God.  Take every thought captive to obey our Christ. 2 Cor 10:4. We cannot simply make a list of what to do and check it off.  Christ calls us to be transformed not informed through checklists.

Take courage like Jehoiada! 2 Chron 23:1 You won't find that definition on a list.
It means: Return to ME with all your heart!  Joel 2:12

I sat at a Counseling Conference, about 20 years ago, and was desperate for answers.
My life was at an all-time low and I needed help.
The well-known speaker met with me and asked me:

"If Jesus walked in here right now, what would He say to you?"
I replied: "He would tell me what I need to do."
No, Crabb replied:  "He would hold you tight in His Arms.
So, leave the room and go talk with Him."
I did.  Empty Room.  My Bible and me.  Sobbing.  Heaving. Loss for Words.
I did Something I never do.
Opened my Bible and placed my index finger on a random verse.
Joel 2:13 "Rend your heart, not your garments."

What's the point?
2 Chron 23:16 We should be the LORD's people.
God answered me.
Maybe I didn't know it that very moment BUT
Joel 2:19 - The LORD answered sending new things that satisfy
Joel 2:25 - Restoring the years the locust ate up
Joel 2:27 - You will know that I am in your midst in the Empty Room.

LET THE WEAK SAY:  I AM A WARRIOR! Joel 3:10
The LORD Roars from Zion to this very day! Joel 3:16
You have a Glorious Future!
You will know that I am your God!!! Joel 3:17
I do!
I am a warrior, what about you?

the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ,

  1. Joel 2:19 "The Lord will answer" Thank you for Your arms that enfold us when we are devastated, destroyed and desperate. I personally can thank You for the restoration of "what" the locusts ate. "You are my Lord and my God and there is no other."

  2. Taking every thought captive is an essential process in the life of every believer. A wise teacher taught me, you can not think two thoughts at one time. SO....If you take the thought captive, the one that is driving you to distraction and think on what Christ will tell you to think on then you will be taking the thought captive to Christ and He will free you from being bound to the thinking that is distracting and disturbing you and enable you to get on the right track with Jesus.

  3. "We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ" (2 Cor 10:5). Obedience... Taking my negative thoughts captive... to Him. This was the very first verse of Scripture I ever memorized. I need it to get it from my head to my heart and just... do the right thing! I'm listening to "Restoration" right now as I type this comment. He may not change my situation, but He can change my mood. He is so good, girlfriends!

    Only with Him,
    xoxo

  4. So much to digest in today's readings. ..
Destroying arguments against the Knowledge of God...
Slugging it out in the battlefield of our mind to let Truth reign, destroy deception, and have a season of peace, whether it's about our marriage, our family, a work situation.

Too much time on my hands these days and my mental state is like an Olympic athlete fighting to finish well, but stumbling so often, and thankfully, falling back into the hands of a waiting God.

He's saying, "Take courage and Return to Me with all your heart." The rest will take care of itself.
