Eph 1:16-21 "A Prayer for The Faithful" (September 13)

Here we are 2,000 years after Paul waxed eloquent with this mystical holy prayer. We stand in awe of these words prayed for the faithful ones in his church at Ephesus.  And we stand equally in awe this day that we pray these beautiful words for each other because you are faithful!  Bend your knees, bow your heart.  The Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, our Prince of Peace bends His Ear to you.

A Prayer for the Faithful
"For this reason, because I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love toward all the saints, I do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers,  that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him,  having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his great might  that he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come.

  1. This prayer of Paul's is one that is so wonderful to pray over others. I love it...I am so blessed by the work of the Spirit. He truly does enlighten our hearts and gives us the wisdom and ability to understand what the scripture is saying to us. May we all pray it for each other and our loved ones in these very troubling days.
I did experience the beautiful hand of God yesterday and the wonder of the Holy Spirit, when I was in such deep pain over my son and the things going on in his life, that only the Lord God could take care of. As I surrendered him once more to the feet of the ONE who could do ALL things for him, I was given that beautiful gift of His peace. Within an hour I did hear of the answer to my cry for my son......He truly does work ALL things for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purposes....even evil and bad things. God is good all the time.

"I do not cease to give thanks..."

Before my head hits the pillow I'm going to thank Him once again. I'm so grateful we understand the magnitude of His Love. Do you have any idea how Blessed we are to get it?!
