2 Chron 29:2 "Do What's Right in Eyes of God" (September 10)

Should we gain huge profits over selling religious goods?
Should we amass huge honor because people put us up on pedestals?

It's a big religious dispute in Ephesus over not using their silversmiths.  You mess with people's money and you mess with their hearts.  Shop owners felt entitled.  Their services were in question.  A justified commotion.  Acts 19:40

Paul and his cohorts did what was right in the eyes of their LORD.
Hezekiah did what was right in the the eyes of his LORD. 2 Chron 29:2
Great Sacrifice.  Great Personal Cost.
This is not about money.
This is about me.
My heart.

Will I live this day what is right in the eyes of my LORD ...

  1. It truly is living what is right in God's eyes and no one else. I am a people pleaser, compliant, the whole nine yards. I need to do a check and see if what I do is to please others or if it is what pleases God and not put others standard on myself but strictly what He desires.

I would appreciate your prayers...I am growing weary of ministering to my son and encouraging him several times a day. It is a great honor and where the Lord has put me right now and am honored that he will call me and listen to me and tell me what is on his heart. It is wearing me out.....I do not want him to stop, it's just I'm weary and need a change of attitude. Thank you.

  2. How precious that he is willing to call you. Your love for him is genuine and heartfelt.

We all struggle with our own responses for whatever reasons. I love what Crabb just tweeted: "Beneath every conversational exchange exists an energy that reflects our fallenness or our redemption." What stirs within you?

Praying for you and for each of us that we reflect on what reflects back on our own hearts. I woke up panicked the other night about one of my children and my husband zeroed in on ME not them. What is going on inside of you, Bev, that you cannot trust God with your adult child?

We all need prayer to love well.
    Love your heart, Mary Lou!

  3. I will keep you in my Prayers, Mary Lou. You are doing great! I don't know all the details, but God does. It's SO hard to be a parent. I think it gets more and more difficult every year. God is in total control and knows exactly what He is doing. Keep trusting Him.

Bev, you continue to inspire me! Thank you for being you!

    Love you guys!

  4. "For the Lord your God is gracious and merciful and will not turn away his face from you, if you return to him.”

Will pray for you, Mary Lou, for your strength to be multiplied in your weariness, that He will shine strong through you.

And for you, Bev, as He quiets your heart from fear for your adult child.

And, Angie, you are always on my heart - thanks for being such an encouragement to us here and to me personally.

Your hearts shine with His mercy and goodness.
