"Let Everything That Has Breath Praise The Lord"
Psalm 150:6
From behind the eyes of each of us
We behold a broken world
We know the story of our own broken lives
As its pages day by day unfurl.
We live not to conquer
But live to surrender
The Script He writes this day
Has a Larger Place in the play.
Yes, There waits for us
Beyond the Place we are in
The Love of our God.
We must see through our sin.
Looking Not to What is Seen
But to Him Who is Unseen
Gracious, Good
Merciful, Magnificent
Let Everything That Has Breath
Praise the Lord!
Oh, Annette! May God carry you through THIS - such a real loss of not having Abby as your constant companion day in, day out. Trusted and true. I am so sorry for your loss of your little dog who lived long. So sorry! Those of us with animals understand although we've never walked in your shoes. May God wrap you up in His Grace and Love. So very sorry to hear!
ReplyDeleteAnnette, I was so sorry to hear of the loss of Abby. I was so touched by her sweetness, and honored when she chose to sleep on my bed at your retreat. She was a great blessing to you and to all who loved her. I will remember you and your family in prayer today.
ReplyDeleteAnnette, so sorry to read of your loss of your Abby. May you remember her fondly today and I praise God that she was with you for so long and gave so much pleasure. Today's reading told us that we were to give praise to God.That everything with breath was to praise Him and thank Him. What a beautiful tribute you can give to God in thanking Him for your beloved pet.
ReplyDeleteAnn Voskamp's post yesterday or the day before that was on the job of being a thank-er and how it must make God smile when we stop and thank Him, since it makes us and others smile when we are thanked for doing something for them. The whole post said that being grateful to Him boosted everything in your life, your mental health, etc. It all made sense to me and it went a long with today's reading of letting everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise and thanksgiving go hand in hand. Thanking Him today for each one of you and for giving Annette, her precious Abby.
Oh you all are so dear to me. We're doing okay. I just snapped at Lauren, and she was being kind of attitude-y to me, both of us coming from a place of feeling sad.
ReplyDeleteEven yesterday, Mike and I were so thankful for Abby's sweet life and the gift she was to our family. She was the "child" left at home when the kids all left for college. She was why I still get up very early to feed and take care of something besides myself. She sacrificed her desires for our commands; she followed my every move and made her life about protecting, keeping company, and comforting us. We learned better how to love by her selflessness, we learned more about being letting our lives be about something bigger through her.
Hard? Yes, but thankful? So much more than I can say here for her ten year legacy in our lives.
Thank you so much for all of your kindness and comforting words. Hugs to you all.
