I Cor 2:4 "In Weakness and In Fear" (August 6)

I struggle with weakness and fear probably more than most.  He knows my frame.  The Spirit searches our weaknesses.

Reading these verses to me this day is like hearing this courageous man share a piece of his humble heart.  He's so real about what stirs within.

Paul comforts me in I Cor 2:3 "And I was with you in weakness and in fear and much trembling, and my speech and my message were not in plausible words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, so that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God."

No eye has seen
No ear has heard
No heart has pondered
All God has prepared for us
For all of us here who love Him so. I Cor 2:9

God values our weakness not our strength.
God values our suffering not our comfort.

May your faith rest in the power of God and not in any man this day and forward.

  1. That's a good word today, Bev. We keep thinking like men and not like God. But the Spirit gives us the mind of Christ, if only we can get out of the way.

Things like fear and weaknesses of all kinds catch me, keep me from the riches of resting in Him. I love that Paul says I messed up and was scared, and the words weren't even plausible, but The Spirit in power is what came through.

It is in our weakness and places of fear, when we turn to Him that we can rest in that amazing Power and Strength.

The wonders of His Power are so beyond us; the splendor of His goodness for each of us is so beyond what we can see, hear or comprehend.

In awe this morning of His majesty, His provision, His goodness...
