People think they are so wise but look how they talk about other people, putting themselves above others.
People think they are so wise but look how they treat other people, distancing themselves from the unlovely, unworthy.
I Cor 3:18-21 - Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you thinks that he is wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise. For the wisdom of this world is folly with God. For it is written, “He catches the wise in their craftiness,” and again, “The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are futile.” So let no one boast in men. For all things are yours..."
"The seeds of every known sin lie within my heart." Robert Murray McShane knew it well. Don't deceive yourself into thinking you are better than you really are. Our greatest need is our personal holiness.
God remembers each of us in our low estate. Psalm 136:23
God watches over every one of us, sojourners. Psalm 146:9
He remembers.
He knows.
He watches.
He waits.
I love today's psalm 136.
ReplyDeleteIt gives a testimony then echoes the chorus over and over
"...for His steadfast love endures forever."
What is your testimony and chorus of your life?
He has used me to raise three strong children, for His steadfast love endures forever.
He's seen me through a marriage of thirty-two years, for His steadfast love endures forever.
He's comforted me in times of loss, for His steadfast love endures forever.
He's provided for my every need, for His steadfast love endures forever.
Praise be to God this day for His steadfast love endures forever and ever. Amen.
Annette, you truly are a gifted writer. I am going to copy what you wrote and insert my personal stuff in there, but that is a great idea.
ReplyDeleteWhat spoke to me, was how the Word told us what the Lord did for His people and then would say, His steadfast love endures forever. He kept on taking care of them and providing for them and His love was steadfast and forever. He does the same for us today. What a blessed thought, that His love is steadfast, we can depend on it and it endures forever. Oh, how I am not worthy of such steadfast love but oh,how grateful I am for His steadfast love.
Love it Annette.
ReplyDeleteSitting at the Phoenix Airport.
Thinking of you and Abby.
Hoping all is well.
His steadfast love is our Rock and He IS our testimony. It is so cool how He writes our history and provides a way through.
ReplyDeleteAbby is hanging in there. We will have to do something soon. Thank you so much for your sweet care, Bev.
