John 16:7 and 16::33 "Take Heart" (June 5)

There is Nothing I face that my God cannot give me a better heart.  Seems that so many deal with changing behavior.  I am no longer at that juncture.  This is about the issues of the heart.
Take heart, Bev.

John 15:33 Take heart.  In this world you will have tribulation.  Take heart, Bev.  I have overcome the world.  And He has sent into our world this very day Another Helper, our Counselor. And it is the work of the Holy Spirit to convict of sin, righteousness, and judgment.  Not my job.  We are called to love people not change people.   Hang on tight in this tight place, Bev.  That place where you cannot even verbalize the tribulation of your soul.

Take Heart.  He has overcome the world!  So what does that mean for me this day?

  1. I weep and lament, but He that is within me causes me to rejoice and my joy is made full when I am reminded of His constant presence. (John 16:20,24). We are told to ask the Father for anything, and He will give it to us in Jesus's name. (16:23) Father, you know what I ask for, long for, I am trusting You in this matter. Knowing that in You I have peace and courage (16:33).

  2. "When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, " The same message keeps popping up for me, so it makes me take note.

When we lack, we need only ask, and the Spirit, our Helper, our Friend, provides. The Message says it so beautifully:

"I still have many things to tell you, but you can't handle them now. But when the Friend comes, the Spirit of the Truth, he will take you by the hand and guide you into all the truth there is. He won't draw attention to himself, but will make sense out of what is about to happen and, indeed, out of all that I have done and said."

Things of this world don't make a lot of sense for me, and I crave that kind of order and understanding. I love that Jesus knows our frame and knows we can't possibly take in all that He has for us to know at once, so the Holy Sprit steps in and guides us toward that fullness of Truth. I can't handle it right now, so the Holy Spirit incrementally adds understanding, making sense of all things God.

  3. As I read today's readings, I had no less than four highlighted passages. Rich in truth and mercy, and abounding in practical ways to apply His Truth to life, I found a focus point this morning:
    "
On the glorious splendor of your majesty,
and on your wondrous works, I will meditate."

Feeling anxious about an out of town business deal, something usually Mike would handle, I have to go to the ranch this morning and meet with two men from Florida interested in a vehicle. Not my forte and not my comfort zone, so I concoct anxiety in my wait. But then I'm redirected by His Word. Focus on Me, My splendor, My Work all about you, the glorious majestic work of My Hand...and I breathe a sigh of relief because I feel His Hand rise up to undergird and steady me.

  4. June 6 - Jesus' pray for us fills me with gratitude, humility and the joy He wanted for us (John 17:13).

Psalm 139 - I love the word picture of my path being scrutinized (vs 3) even before I walk up on it, He is there, removing that which is not for my benefit or that the enemy may try to conceal. He is intimately acquainted with all my ways (vs 4). He knows me completely and loves me still!
