We have the honor of listening in on a prayer that was spoken two thousand years ago by Christ Himself. And He even prayed for you and me sitting at our computers this very day. John 17.
What did He wish forward for us? The health of our soul. He didn't pray for everything to work out well on earth. He says we are not of this world. He prayed for me and you that we would be kept from sin and strengthened to further His mission. John 17:5. May your soul prosper.
And this so speaks to me in our financial loss. Prosperity of my soul trumps prosperity of my home. Like you, I am hemmed in behind and before. Lay your Hand upon our heads. Psalm 139:5. We are searched and known people. Psalm 139:1
I am wondering this night what God thinks of the ways we respond in the midst of our difficulties. Do we take matters into our own hands, like Peter did in these verses? Do we rush to try to solve the problem so there will be little pain? Do we distance ourselves from the real issues at hand? What does the God of the Universe think as He knows this frame of our life this night?
Love your thoughts, I was confused because I had a different scripture, you are a day ahead of us,and I love the thought of his spanking clean mercies being all over me. He is so good to me, loving me for eternity.
ReplyDeleteI am experiencing silence for the last week and one more week to go. I have been ordered by my doctor not to speak and it really changes things. I stop and think before I write notes to the family, keeping it short and simple. My family and I have learned a lot about patience. So, what have I learned? Pray more,Listen more, love more, smile more.

ReplyDeleteYou have something to smile about. God is so at work in you!
