Josh 17:15 and Luke 11:8 "Impudence" (April 10)

This life is flat out difficult to live whether you are sixteen or sixty. I spent the better part of my afternoon undergoing inhumane tests for cancer. So far they are all negative and I am immensely grateful for that, having been down that harrowing narrow road. So, Joshua 17:15 speaks to me in the dilemmas of my day ~ If you are a great people, says Joshua, then take the land you already possess from the cave dwellers and from the savages, expecting the assistance of your God. Am I expecting the assistance of God to do what looms impossible this hour? Am I being impudent about it? Luke 11:8 makes me want to stand up in impudence. "Because of his impudence, he will rise and give him whatever he needs. And I tell you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you." I am rising up in impudence today cause I need God's help or I just might crater.

  1. Bev, praying with you/for you, that He might give you exactly what you need in this hour of testing. He said to seek and ask and keep on knocking....so I am keeping on with you, knocking for His help.

  2. Yes, Bev, I join Mary Lou in continuing to knock at the Door on your behalf. He promises good to you. He promises abundance. It doesn't look like this world's abundance, but is eternal fruit, eternal "bread" and food to sustain us.

I am sorry for your continuing trials and fear and testing. It IS a harrowing road. I have travelled alongside you, Cathy and my mother with breast cancer, and my own scary road of testing with it, and it seems the main Gift for me has been that He will take you straight to what you fear most, and allow you to look it in the eye, and give you the strength to know you can overcome, even this...you can overcome with His carrying Arms. Even this...

And one by one, He drives out the enemies...of fear, of death, of claustrophobia, of indignation, of invasiveness, of _____, (what is it for you this day?) Even this.

Receive the blessing in today's Word, too! “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and keep it!”
