Josh 21:45 and Luke 11:35 "Is My Light Really Darkness?" (April 11)

May I be more concerned, way more concerned, about taking possession of what God has given me, what God has done, than I am concerned about what is happening to me or what people are doing to me. Luke 11:35 says: "Therefore be careful lest the light in you be darkness." It might be. Listen to what people are saying to you. Truly listen. I may think I am right but am I really? Joshua 21:44-45 The Israelites took possession of what was theirs. And the Lord gave them rest on every side, not one of their enemies still stood. Not one word of all the good promises that the Lord had made to the house of Israel had failed; all came to pass. Mind your own business. Lead a quiet life. Let God be God. Hold fast to Him. And value rest more than conquer. Listen to God's Word more than what others say. Our God will never fail us.

  1. Do you know some Pharisees? I see it all around and in myself at times. Hypocrisy is ugly. Hypocrisy doesn't win souls.

    Pharisees:

    1. "Love all the rules, but neglect the love of God and justice..."
    2. are white-washed tombs--spiffed up and looking good for others, but void of love and authentic fairness."
    3. Don't enter in themselves, but hinder those who are entering..."

God honors those who "Give as alms those things that are within..." God looks at the heart. Let us strive for authenticity, be real through and through.
