I John 3:17 ~ If you have stuff
and see your brother in need and close your heart against him,
how is that Love?
Love in Deed and Truth not in word or talk.
We can tell someone that we love them but if we
Keep our distance,
Show our disdain,
Rehearse how they bother us,
Refuse to enjoy just who they are,
Then there is something stronger in me than the Love of God.
One disrespectful word spoken to me yesterday tied me in knots.
And now the table is turned.
And my heart condemns me this morning, yes it does,
Verse 19 says: Know that we are of the Truth and
Reassure your heart before Him.
God is greater than my heart, and He knows everything.
He knows my good intentions, my unnoticed deeds,
He knows why I am so upset in the relationship that sours.
I am going to Him to reassure my Heart!
God is Greater!
Strong words from the Word today and from you, sweet Bev. Saw your comment yesterday, have prayed for you about the upcoming Doctor's visit. Praying that God will meet you right where you are and minister to you and be the lifter of your head and a shield about you. You are loved from this one in Tennessee.
ReplyDeletePractice love. Words of reassurance are nice, but our actions tell the story. Love is a verb, not a state. How do we love well in a society that taints love with sexual overtones and views love so differently than God would have us understand Himself? God is love. If we do not act in brotherly love, He does not reside within us. Reconciling my heart this morning, reassuring, fortifying myself in Him. Nothing of my own volition is loving and pure--only in Him, in His love, in His strength, can I begin to deal with my relationships, my deceitful heart, my actions. May we all love well this day in His strength, abiding in Him.
