Eph 3:14-19 - With tears rolling down my cheeks, this is my prayer for you this day and forever more.
For this reason, I bow my knees before the Father, that He may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
Eph 3: 20-21 I've never noticed before tonight that the "far more abundantly" is according to the power at work within you and me this day. That gives me so much hope for what I face today. There's a Beautiful God already at work. Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever.
Amen.
Pearls, please keep Angie in your prayers as she is on vigil with her brother, who has pancreatic cancer. From her blog: "I'm at his house...it is pretty quiet as we sit here with Pattie. She loves that we are here with her as he sleeps almost all of the time.
ReplyDeleteThis feels way too familiar. It's precious time, but so uncomfortable at the same time and times goes ever so slowly."
Her sister and father passed away from cancer not that long ago and it was almost exactly a year ago that she lost her mother. That familiar feeling is such a hard place.
Please pray for her. If you would take a moment to write a prayer of comfort for her, it would mean so much, and I'll be sure to tell her to take a look and absorb all this love we have for her, that He has for her.
In the waiting, there is hard hope. In the waiting, there is raw emotion. In the waiting, He promises never to leave or forsake, yet loneliness is the main companion. Pray for the Karnowskis as they say goodbye to Dave, their brother, their friend, their husband, their beloved. Pray for Angie as her heart hurts.
And I'm sure she'd tell you this day to cling to your loved ones a little tighter. Tell them you love them and be thankful. As Ann Voskamp says, "All is Grace." Love you all.
Precious Lord,
ReplyDelete"Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known." Soon, Lord, soon, Dave will know you face to Face, in perfect healing.
Psalm 40: I waited patiently for the LORD; And He inclined to me, and heard my cry. 2 He brought me up out of the pit of destruction, out of the miry clay; And He set my feet upon a rock making my footsteps firm. 3 And He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God; Many will see and fear, And will trust in the LORD. 4 How blessed is the man who has made the LORD his trust, And has not turned to the proud, nor to those who lapse into falsehood. 5 Many, O LORD my God, are the wonders which Thou hast done, And Thy thoughts toward us; There is none to compare with Thee; If I would declare and speak of them, They would be too numerous to count. 6 Sacrifice and meal offering Thou hast not desired; My ears Thou hast opened; Burnt offering and sin offering Thou hast not required. Then I said, “Behold, I come; In the scroll of the book it is written of me; I delight to do Thy will, O my God; Thy Law is within my heart.” 9 I have proclaimed glad tidings of righteousness in the great congregation; Behold, I will not restrain my lips, O LORD, Thou knowest. 10 I have not hidden Thy righteousness within my heart; I have spoken of Thy faithfulness and Thy salvation; I have not concealed Thy lovingkindness and Thy truth from the great congregation.
Thank you for Dave, Lord. Thank you for Angie. Hear their hearts in this hour of need. We love you and praise your name for a life, for our Angie, for a family who looks to You. And Your promises are great from generation to generation. Blessed be Your Name. Amen.
And for each of you Pearls, I echo Bev's heartfelt prayer:
ReplyDeleteEph 3:14-19 - With tears rolling down my cheeks, this is my prayer for you this day and forever more.

Oh, what beautiful prayers. Annette. The one in Ephesians is one of the most beautiful that can be prayed over us and that we can pray for others. And all of it is because of the power of the Holy Spirit who lives with in us. It's ALL Him.
ReplyDeleteFinding words for Angie and her family is hard. I do not know of such pain, but I do know that the Father does and sweet Angie, I pray that you can feel Him so close to you today that it's as though He were in His physical body and putting His arms of comfort around you. May you feel His peace that passes all understanding and may you find rest in Him today. You are precious in His sight, just as your whole family. Blessings as you sit with your brother and his wife. You are truly a pearl with great value.
Just wanted to say that Sally posted on Caring bridge that the surgery went off with out a hitch and that she was able to go home last night. She said that the pain was bearable and she had pain meds.
ReplyDeleteBless each one of you for praying for her. When she gives a more detailed report of answered prayer, I will share that with you at that time. Thank you for praying, she listed her email address if anyone had a prayer need, she was more than willing to pray for them, since so many have prayed for her.
UPDATE Just heard from Angie. They took Dave to the hospital and did some surgery on him to relieve some of the pain. He's about to head home and it is a one and a half hour trip home. I had understood he was in hospice, but they did some procedure today. So, please pray for his comfort.
ReplyDeleteFather,
ReplyDeleteWe are one in Spirit, a body of believers that have learned to trust You even in the valley of the shadow of death. Your Word says that You care about the sparrow and You care about us as Your child so much more. I thank You for the many ways You reach out to us to let us know that You are with us. I pray that Angie and Dave would KNOW that You are there in their midst. Let Your Spirit overshadow them and grace them with Your peace. Angie is so tender towards the suffering of her brother...towards loss...Father, hold her close and give her Your strength. Your power is brought to us through our NEED and through our cry to You. David cried out to You for help. And You were faithful to him. I pray You would be there for all of the needs Angie, Dave and the rest of us have.
Precious Bev needs You to fill her, she's running on empty.
Annette breathes Your Living Word into her growing family, her ministry at church, her gift of ministry to those in need around her. Fill her, Lord.
Mary Lou touches lives with her faith that moves mountains. We praise Your Name for every answered prayer and every life touched by Your mercy. Overwhelm her with Your care for her.
Jan loves You much. Jan loves You enough to draw closer to You. Father, bring much fruit from the work You are doing in her life. I thank You for her gleanings from Your Word that she shares with us here. We love her much. You love her much.
Sylvia sings and serves You, Lord. She has fallen head over heels in love with You. Father, I pray that You would sup with her. Fellowship with her and be so real to her that she could reach out and touch Your Hand, Your Knee, Your Shoulder to lean on when things are hard.
Each of us has made You our First Love. We come here daily to be resurrected in You. We live in You. Let us take these words of Paul to heart. Let us love each other with tears. We pray in Your Name, Jesus. Amen.
We just got home from University of Michigan. Dave is in Hospice care but they are giving him palliative care where they just try to make him comfortable. It was very stressful getting him to and from Ann Arbor. It was pouring down rain, dark and he was in agony. But... we made it and he is now sleeping so all is good.
ReplyDeleteI hate to sound like a drama queen but I am drained. I haven't slept the past couple of nights and anyone who knows me knows I need my sleep. God is so close to me right now that it is almost scary.
THANK YOU, Annette for your sweet words and prayers. Thanks to all of my precious pearls. You made me cry as I read these comments. Wishing we could have a group hug right about now! I love you all!
I just read about Dave and my heart and prayers go to you. No words over here. I'm simply speechless! It's a Beautiful God Who stirs inside of you, Angie. And we all see Him rising up in you. May He do Eph 3:21 beyond what you can imagine according to the power at work within you----I'll always remember you and this night and that verse. Just wrote your name in my Bible by Eph 3:21. Love you so!
ReplyDeletePlease pray for me tonight---I am in a scary place and yet, a trusting one! Thanks for your prayers.
ReplyDeleteBev, I am praying for you this morning. Just came back here for a quick stop. But God had another plan. May your heart be strengthened, you fears assuaged by His love, your mourning turn to dancing this new day. He loves you so much. The enemy wants to defeat you because you make such a difference in so many of our lives. But He who is in you is so much greater==praise, His Name. I'm also praying for relief not just the energy to endure, Bev. I know He is able and Our Great Deliverer.
ReplyDeleteI'm with Angie. We need a group hug!
Bev, thanks for your post to cause me to look back to Friday. As I read each Pearl's comment I am blessed beyond words.
ReplyDeleteOh, Angie how my heart aches for you. I have not had your experience but the comforting scriptures others have provided strengthen me for you as I pray that the God of all Grace, Mercy and Peace continue to hover over you and Dave and all the family that you find amazing strength in His Presence because He does LIVE in all who believe.
God is building your belief system as you walk through this valley. I am so thankful God has brought you to the Pearls that we can love on each other in the Good Times as well as the difficult times.
This is a Song I must Sing, Sylvia
