He Himself is Our Peace - Ephesians 2:14.
I wonder how my day would be different if I really believed that.
I've been locked out of my car by someone else.
Someone accidentally took my lunch and my supper.
A friend called with a need that cost me an hour.
Three friends needed my help right away.
My students needed my help immediately.
I tutored through lunch period, conference period, & after school.
There were several small fires to put out today.
My car was past "E" and my purse on "E" for empty.
I started a major undertaking today that will last for a year.
And I still don't feel very well.
Wonder how my day would have looked different if I truly believed that
He Himself is Our Peace.
There were moments where I was so "at war" in my mind
to believe the best, to not blameshift, to rest at being not doing.
It's not about things:
MORE: going well,
ALL: being solved,
LESS: having fewer problems
He Himself is Our Peace.
No solutions. No formulas. No outlines. No cheat sheets.
So, what stirs in you this day as you process life?
Ephesians 2:4-10--"But God, being( rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ— by grace you have been saved— and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved(R) through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them."
ReplyDeleteI love the scripture today, because it reminds me of all the times I complain or expect more of others that I should, forgetting about Grace, Mercy and Love that God has bestowed so abundantly on me through Jesus. Faith has come as a gift through all of the trials in my life. Grace has been there all of the time, I don't see it, I am the one who needs grace, and I need to show it more to others.
Bev, your life has been such a beacon of hope and inspiration to me. You have gone through so many trials, I can't even imagine. The important part is you stay faithful, you inspire me by your doubts and questions, your honesty. God has used your trials to not only make you stronger, it makes me try harder to be what He desires for me. I am praying for you today, that He will be your Peace.
13But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.
ReplyDelete"far off"
I am pondering that place today. Far away from our beautiful God. How sad and lonely that place would be.
Far off from true security. Our only hope is in Him. Just think about the state of this world and how scary it is to the one who is far off. We have a True God who has enriched our lives with His nearness. On the hard days and nights we can snuggle close to Him and feel the strength of Him.
Far off from hope. There is no hope in the far off. Cynics abound. Man always lets us down. But because God has given me His Word, I have Truth. This world is not my home and it is a mean world somedays. But life is a vapor and the eternal home God has promised me will be with Him. No weeping. No pain. No more death. Hope only in the Lord...
We have been brought near by Christ's blood. What a precious reminder that He wanted us so much. He brought us near because He loved us and provided for us a place with Him.
I pray today for those without hope, those who live in insecurity, those who are blind to the love God has for them. May they come out of the far off place they are in and draw close to God through Christ's blood.
Thank you guys so much --- those of you reading and so drawn to His Word, those of you posting so faithfully --- you all bless me so!
