How telling of our generation that we don't even know how to blush. But Kierkegaard wrote: "It's precisely our consciousness of sin that can lead us nearer to God. Without an ongoing consciousness of sin, any sense of nearness to Me is counterfeit. But with consciousness of sin, the fire of purifying holiness will sustain your faith in My Goodness..." There is great hope for our sin.
Jeremiah 4 PLOW YOUR UNPLOWED HEARTS
4:1 "If you want to come back, O Israel, you must really come back to me. You must get rid of your stinking sin paraphernalia and not wander away from me anymore. ... God's Decree: "Plow your unplowed fields, but then don't plant weeds in the soil! Yes, circumcise your lives for God's sake. Plow your unplowed hearts. So what's happened? 4:18 - It's the way you've lived that's brought all this on you. The bitter taste is from your evil life. That's what's piercing your heart."
Jeremiah 5 PEOPLE ARE BROKEN AND THEY PUT ON BAND-AIDS
Nothing bad will happen to us, neither famine nor war will come our way. The prophets are all windbags.
They speak nothing but nonsense...they are going to eat those words. Watch now! I'm putting my words as fire in your mouth. And the people are a pile of kindling ready to go up in flames. It never occurs to them to say, 'How can we honor our God with our lives? No. Jeremiah 5:13 - "Everyone's after the dishonest dollar, little people and big people alike. Prophets and priests and everyone in between twist words and doctor truth. My people are broken—shattered!— and they put on Band-Aids, Saying, 'It's not so bad. You'll be just fine.' But things are not 'just fine'! Do you suppose they are embarrassed? They don't even know how to blush. There's no hope for them. They've hit bottom and there's no getting up.
Jeremiah 6 DISCOVER THE RIGHT ROUTE FOR YOUR SOUL
God's Message: "Go stand at the crossroads and look around. Ask for directions to the old road, The tried-and-true road. Then take it. Discover the right route for your souls. God's verdict on your way of life: Watch out! I'm putting roadblocks and barriers on the road you're taking. So what's their response: We've heard the news about the invasion, and we're as limp as wet dishrags. We're paralyzed with fear. Nothing can refine evil out of them.
Am I conscious of the sin in my life? In my words or lack of words? In my thoughts wanting others to be hurt? Am I blushing?
I can't help but blush this morning...

Jer 4:3 "Plow your unplowed fields…Plow your unplowed hearts.” So much left to do to be ready. So much of an unchartered journey with Him because I stay in comfort land not moving—more concerned about my happiness than holiness.
Jer 5:20-25 “With eyes that see but don't really look, and ears that hear but don't really listen. Why don't you honor me? Why aren't you in awe before me?... Your bad behavior blinds you to all this. Your sins keep my blessings at a distance.” Where is my awe? Where is my tendered heart? Open the eyes of my heart, my ears to hear Your Voice, to not miss blessing!

Consciousness of sin...that's what I have thought about all night. And there is such hope for our sin. Hallelujah!

Why? Because it is tried-and-true.

Are we any better than these sinners?
I've been battling this week...I cannot see my enemy, but I know him well. He attacks me with fear, panic even. But Perfect Love casts out fear. What or who is Perfect Love?
Jesus Christ.
I've been fighting against this enemy of darkness using the Name of Jesus. Asking Him to be LORD of my life. Facedown praying the armour of the Lord over me from Ephesians 6. Repeating verses that I know well. No weaponed formed against me shall prosper. What time I am afraid I will trust in Thee. He prepares a table before me, in the presence of mine enemies. My cup runs over.
Please, would you please keep our nation in your prayers? Especially our military and civilian forces? I believe this is tied to the oppression I'm battling.
It is time today to "Close ranks!"
I am running to that cross standing at the crossroad. I'm taking the tried-and-true way.
Time to listen with open ears.
Time to turn from stinking thinking.
Time to keep our lamps filled with Oil. God's Spirit anointing and empowering. God's Spirit rising UP! God's Spirit seeking the lost coin, the lost sheep, the prodigal, the one thankful and healed leper, the repentent thief hanging on the cross.
Do you know someone who has wandered away from God?
Do you have the compassion of Jesus Christ for the wanderer?
Be alert. God is moving. Be ready to give account for the hope that is in you.
James 5:19-20 (The Message)
"My dear friends, if you know people who have wandered off from God's truth, don't write them off. Go after them. Get them back and you will have rescued precious lives from destruction and prevented an epidemic of wandering away from God."
God in heaven, I pray that You would crush satan's head with Christ's foot. He is a defeated foe. Our God is the maker of heaven and earth. Let all the earth keep silence before Him. Keep silence. In Jesus Name. Amen.
