284 - "The Issue Is Not What They Do To Me But What Jesus Does Through My Obedience" Micah 1-3; Adts 21:1-17

Let the will of the LORD be done.

Somehow, we talk about seeing our children graduate from college and get married and have babies. LORD, let me be there---the will of the Lord. We pin our happiness on things turning out right. Paul pens his happiness on the will of the LORD.

Prophets cry "Peace" when they have something to eat. Micah 3:5
But do those same prophets cry "Peace" when they are treated poorly and good withheld.
No, those prophets "Declare War" against him who puts nothing in their mouths.

May we all pray like crazy not to be delivered out of our circumstances
but to be delivered from our selfish souls.

LORD,
Thy Will be done
Our wills be undone.

Acts 21: 12 -13  We begged Paul not to be stubborn and persist in going to Jerusalem. But Paul wouldn't budge: "Why all this hysteria? Why do you insist on making a scene and making it even harder for me? You're looking at this backward. The issue in Jerusalem is not what they do to me, whether arrest or murder, but what the Master Jesus does through my obedience. Can't you see that?  It's in God's hands now," we said. "Master, you handle it."

I am sitting in Jerusalem tonight as I write.  These words mean much to me, down deep.  The issue is not what they do to Paul or to me or to you but the issue is what our Master does through our obedience.  And Paul tells the rest of his story.
