"Don't Walk in the Light of your own Fire" Isaiah 50-52; I Thessalonians 5

How can I choose to not walk in the light of my own fire?

From the foundations of the world,

To the cross of Christ.

Every day is marked.

Our good ones.  Our bad ones.
For those days when we walk in the dark,
where there is no light for our path,
may we trust in the Name of the Lord,
our God.  Isaiah 50:10
May we lay down our strategies, our crutch,
and not try to illuminate our path
through analysis and maneuvers and spotlights.
If we walk by the light of our own fires,
God puts in Isa 50:11 that it won't turn out well for us.
Torment is the word He uses.

Father, make us aware way down deep where it counts as to the strategies we use to make our paths bright so we can walk safely, securely, with no stumblings.  Open our ears, our hearts, to see what we are doing in the midst of our darkness.  May we struggle well.  May we learn a little bit more this day what it means to depend on You in trust where there is no light.

"Walk out into the daylight sober, dressed up in faith, love, and the hope of salvation."   I Thes 5:8.
Be cheerful no matter what; pray all the time; thank God no matter what happens. This is the way God wants you who belong to Christ Jesus to live. I Thes 5:18...May God himself, the God who makes everything holy and whole, make you holy and whole, put you together—spirit, soul, and body—and keep you fit for the coming of our Master, Jesus Christ. The One who called you is completely dependable. If he said it, he'll do it!  I Thes 5:23-24
